The Company’s new sign and logotype were chosen today from among the 22 short-listed works of the 622 submitted at a session of JAT Airways director-general’s college.

The two works winning the highest number of votes were code-named JAT(0) and JATINPIKA, both signed by Darko Miladinović and Eduard Čehovin, from Ljubljana.

The adopted logotype was from the work code-named JAT(0), and the image, from the work code-named JATINPIKA.
As neither was fully satisfactory in view of the jury as well as of JAT Airways top leadership, it was decided to combine the two.

Further elaboration would be harmonized with the JAT Airways management requirements, that is through applying graphic standards and application.
In line with pursuing new policy of seeking to establish firmer ties in the region, more significant joining the European trends and continued implementation of world standards, JAT Airways declared open an international contest for new visual identity on April 28, 2003. As many as 622 works of 333 authors were entered by the May 19, 2003 deadline. They were sent from the US, Canada, Great Britain, Germany, Italy, United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong, Norway, Slovenia, Macedonia, Croatia and Serbia and Montenegro.
